The Free Burma Rangers (FBR) is a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement which provide help, medicine, hope and love to people in the war zones of Burma. Teams are trained, supplied and sent into the areas under attack to provide emergency assistance and to document human rights abuses.

Huay Pu Keng is a small village populated primarily by the Kayan (long-neck) and Kayaw (big-ears) Karenni ethnic sub-groups. It is the largest of three Kayan villages in Mae Hong Son province.
